The following lists the undergraduate catalog program and/or policy changes that occurred in the 2023-2024 academic year:
Fall 2023
- Integrated Studies BAAS
- Modified Technical Credit section with the following information: "Credits toward the 'technical credit' area of specialization may be earned from regionally accredited junior/community colleges, vocational or technical schools, or ACE equivalent credit; credits may also be earned through armed forces training when that work can be equated to college credit. Final approval for any transfer credit into this area rests upon the program director based upon appropriateness toward the intended learning outcomes for the degree and toward the mission of the University of St. Thomas. Technical hours MUST be completed prior to UST enrollment. The number of credit hours accepted in transfer for the technical credit specialization area will consist of a minimum of 15 hours and not exceed 45 hours. The other minor areas of the degree plan may include regular academic course equivalent transfer credit according to UST transfer credit policy. The total transfer credit accepted shall not exceed the limits stated in the undergraduate transfer credit policy."
- In the Humanities, STEM/Prof/SBS, and Technical Credit sections, the minimum hour requirements were adjusted from 18hrs to 15hrs to accommodate the 15hr minimum requirement for minors that was passed in a previous year.
- Modified the Additional Required Course and Electives section with the following information: "Student must complete with a grade of "B" or better, ISTUD 2301 and Satisfy a Practicum requirement associated with a graded UST course, and which may be included for credit in one of the student's minor fields. Practicum options: Internship, Service Project, Capstone Seminar Research Paper, or Learning Abroad Course."
- Pastoral Theology Certificate
- Program updated from a 32hr certificate to a 24hr certificate. The 24 hours will consist of 12 2-hour courses making up the minimum to earn the certificate, but each diocese will then have the freedom to add additional UST UCRT (CU) courses to their academic formation as their needs require. Different dioceses utilize different models and time-frames through which their students must progress, and the School of Theology will continue to offer courses that they request tailored to the specific needs of each constituent diocese, but these will be in addition to the 24-hour Certificate in Pastoral Theology program. Specific course equivalencies will be indicated to ensure additional credit-granting flexibility for the various dioceses in consideration of their specific needs.
