This course explores how data analytics transforms the practice of accounting and finance by converting raw financial and accounting datainto meaningful insights that enhance decision-making, improve business processes, and strengthen internal controls. Emphasis is placed on how finance professionals and accountants source, structure, and interpret financial and accounting data to support financial reporting, auditing, managerial decisions, and tax planning. Students will learn to ask the right analytical questions, prepare and validate accounting and financial datasets, and apply structured analytical methods to evaluate results. Through hands-on work, students gain practical skills using Excel, Power Query, Tableau, Alteryx, and UiPath, using examples tailored to accounting and finance problems.
