What You Learn
The program is designed to provide individuals with an opportunity to acquire knowledge and practical experience to become highly qualified teachers in the areas of Bilingual and Dual Language Education.
How You Learn
Online: This is an online cohort program. Students will check in online to complete assignments and participate in online discussions and group activities. While there are no face-to-face requirements, some live online sessions and/or conference call sessions may be required. Students will finish two courses every 15 weeks.
Career Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, students will earn a Master of Education degree in Bilingual/Dual Language Education.

BIE/DL 5364: An alternate course provided for non-Spanish speakers.
Requirements
- Candidates for this program will be experienced teachers
- Baccalaureate or advanced degree GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Interest in working with second language or emergent bilingual students
- For Dual language or Immersion programs, fluency in Spanish or the language in which you wish to teach, or a bilingual or ESL certificate.
Completion of this program will not lead to a Texas teaching certificate.
