This course provides and introduction to the Gospel of John, the Johannine epistles, and the Book of Revelation. The literary structures and distinctive theological themes are reviewed as well as the problem of authority in the Johannine corpus. The communities for which the Johannine literature was written will be explored in their social and ecclessial contexts. The course will include exegesis of selected pericopae.
