The Deans' Council recommends that our offices and the Registrar's Office adopt a shared standard for late registration that reflects the university's core value of discipline. Going forward, late registration requests should be approved only in cases of documented, bona fide emergencies—such as medical crises, family emergencies, or institutional errors. Such requests should be submitted before the semester census date. Deans will apply this standard when reviewing requests, and the Registrar's Office is encouraged to return any requests that do not clearly meet these criteria. This collaborative approach will help ensure that published enrollment deadlines are upheld and that we collectively model the discipline we expect of our students.
