COUN Abnormal Human Behavior-The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the concepts of psychopathology and normalcy; to understand dysfunction in human behavior and/or social organizations. Students will also be familiar with the major diagnostic categories of the current DSM and their etiologies. Emphasis is placed on identifying of diagnosis and understanding how cultural, biological, social and psychological factors are necessary when developing a holistic and ethical model of assessment and treatment planning to better understand dysfunction in human behavior.
