This course is an epic journey into the heroic endeavor of the human spirit – the unrelenting quest to confront evil, champion righteousness, and embrace the flaws, weaknesses, and strengths that allow us to transcend our self-imposed limitations. In addition to screening and analyzing a variety of canonical fantasy films, we will
contextualize the works within the broader literary tradition of the Arthurian legends, Greek mythology, and historiographic accounts of “real” heroes.
